Well well well, DogFest 2017 went pretty well! Despite the wind-swept terrain and a few dog-crazed people who can't even stand the sight of an image of a cat, it all went pretty well. I had majority dog pieces displayed, a few cats, and one bird- I told the anti-cat person to not look directly into the evil cat's eyes :) No laughs from that guy. You see, the first order last year WAS a cat, so how could I not include some cats in my pet-themed display? Whatever. Some adorable kids came by- one interesting little guy who just had to tell me about his pet bird who sits on his shoulder at home. Adorable. Ginger the therapy dog was amazing, like a tiny Falcore in heart-shaped sunglasses. I didn't get as many sign-ups as last year, but I'd say the number of legible sign-ups was about equal. I ran out of business cards. I kept leaping for the leg of my tent so the whole damn thing didn't blow over. The cards I made only sold a handful, but an interesting thing came out of that: more than a few people asked about putting THEIR pet's face on a card as a holiday card. How much would that cost, you ask? I have no idea. Give me a year to figure it out!
